A bouquet of dreams, dressed in the most beautiful attire, Dubai is a charmer in winter. If you visit Dubai at this time of the year, you will be amazed to witness the grand shopping festival that will kick off on 17th December. As the Middle East’s largest shopping extravaganza is back for its 26th edition this year, this season is extra special. A year spent largely indoors due to the pandemic; the city that was missing its cultural grandeur has geared up to return to normalcy.
Live events that were missed lately will now usher in the celebration of the Dubai Shopping Festival. In our previous blog, we have discussed the know-it-all of the Dubai Shopping Festival. Now, take a look at the list of must-see concerts and live events to catch up on during DSF.
Here’s is a guide to the highlights of this year’s DSF. Ready much?
Hussain and Tamer, Burj Park
Arabic music hotshots Hussain Al Jassmi and Tamer Hosny will premiere the first evening of the two-day DSF opening festival. Hussain and Tamer will perform Thursday. The show has sold out yet will be broadcasted live on MBC 1 and Wanasah at 8.30 pm local time. The sold-out show will feature at the Market Outside the Box (MOTB) at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai. TV presenter, Lojain Omran, will host the show.
What’s more? The show will include spectacular fireworks, while the Burj Khalifa will be lit up with a unique illumination during the evening.
Anne-Marie, Clean Bandit and Yasmin Green, Burj Park
UK sensation Anne-Marie and pop act Clean Bandit, who will play out a DJ set alongside singer Yasmin Green, will perform on Friday at Etisalat Market OTB, which will likewise include F&B sellers and family attractions. Entryways will open from late morning, and concert seating will start at 5 pm, with tickets estimated at AED50.
Jingle Bell Rock, DWTC
Jingle Bell Rock will occur at Sheik Saeed Hall at the Dubai World Trade Center on Friday, including Christmas melodies performed by a heavenly line-up of worldwide vocalists and artists.
Get into the festive fervor as worldwide stars and artists perform popular carols and Yuletide classics. The creation will include West End sensation “The Barricade Boys” from the world’s longest-running melodic, ‘Les Misérables,’ and Kerry Ellis, most popular for her leading and grant-winning role in ‘Mischievous.’ Tickets start at Dh175.
Sheik Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Center will likewise invite the hip bounce hints of Arabic rappers ALA and Jenjoon for the RAP Beats show on Friday. Entryways open at 7 pm.
Story-telling, The Dubai Opera
On Saturday, the Dubai Opera will have The Simon and Garfunkel Story. Telling the story of the most popular folk-rock duo, the live venue will have two shows, at 2 pm and 8 pm.
Digital Art Show, The Souk Madinat Jumeirah
The Souk Madinat Jumeirah will have the Digital Art Show including crafted by nine surprising experts â€” Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, Paul Cã©zanne, Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay, Paul Klee, and Wassily Kandinsky (via source). Confirmation costs from AED45 to AED150.
Live shows and events
A unique screening of The Snowman, a Christmas exemplary film, will play at The Theater at Mall of the Emirates on Friday and from December 22-24, with the last show on December 26.
Until December 27, the Theater at the QE2 will host an exemplary family stage show, ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ twice daily.
The Christmas Show at Fairmont The Palm is a blend of the multitude of most loved merry melodies and will happen from December 17-28, except December 21 and 25.
The Dubai Winter Festival will be arranged at Zabeel Park until January 15, 2021, from 4 pm to 10 pm every day.
F&B and retail
From December 17-19, the event named ‘What the Food’ will invite foodies to Alserkal Avenue. On December 17, people can enjoy the Mattar Farm x BB Social Dining Supper Club, the Winter on Fire/The Deli Soup Kitchen on December 18, and on December 19, the Winter on Fire/BBQ Masterclass. Stalls and food trucks will also be made available all through the open-air scene.
SALT will showcase its fresh out of the box new F&B and retail idea, SALT CAMP, at DIFC. Including two fundamental eating zones, SALT and Sugar, it will offer two unique menus: Burgers, fries, and beverages in SALT and dessert in SUGAR.
Over the first few days of DSF, the American RagCie store in The Dubai Mall will welcome customers to get away to participate in a stunning Augmented Reality Journey across six touchpoints driving from an initiation space into the store itself.
The grand DSF raffle season commences on the opening end of the week with the arrival of the INFINITI Mega Raffle to win an INFINITI QX60 vehicle and AED200,000 each day. A sum of 45 INFINITI QX60 vehicles will be distributed during DSF.
The most noteworthy raffle in the history of DSF, the DSF Supercar Raffle will give away an AED6 million UAE-made Fenyr sportscar to one lucky winner.
The super Nissan Grand Raffle will see 45 pristine Nissan vehicles given away this DSF. From Thursday until January 30, customers visiting Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) shopping centers can enter a raffle to win monetary rewards of up to AED100,000 every week by just spending AED200.
Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) will host a mega raffle with a complete 25kg of gold to be won.
